Juban is a kimono-like garment. Made of light fabric and worn under the kimono. There are 2 types of Juban, “Naga-juban (long Juban)” and “Hada-Juban (skin Juban)”. First you wear a Hada-Juban as an undergarment, then you wear the Naga-juban. When you wear formally a Kimono, you can only see the Naga-Juban’s lapels sticking out even though there are some colorful Naga-Juban with some beautiful patterns on it. We can here appreciate the Japanese aesthetic and consciousness spirit.
