This japanese style mask is called KAMON: Junior size: for children between 7 and 14 years old.
This mask has different Kamon symbols on it. “KAMON” means “family crest” or “emblem”. Japanese people used to create their own family crest to identify their affiliations (attachment). During the Edo period, people below the Samurai class were not allowed to have their surname. They could only identify their family by “YAGO”: literally meaning "house name".
In case of a cold or for extra safety, it is better hygiene and respect for others when living in crowded place. It can also be used in the winter when it is cold or simply worn like a fashion accessory.
