This vintage japanese Hanten 半纏 Kimono comes from an old establishment called “Mikazukiya”. Mikazuki means the crescent Moon. For centuries Japanese have been sensitive to the beauty of nature's evolution. The old Japanese would look at the moon change day after day and they would sing to it. The moon is often seen on kimonos as it is admired by the Japanese people.
A Hanten is a short winter coat, an item of traditional Japanese clothing. The coat started to be worn, especially by the common people, in the 18th century during the Edo period. You can wear this Hanten as you want, to make your outfit more unique with a japanese touch. We have a broad collection of Japanese vintage hantens, check out our full collection.
